2023 ANNUAL GRC CONFERENCE SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: DR. BODE OGUNTOKE
Dr Bode Oguntoke is a highly accomplished and versatile chartered accountant with over 20 years of managerial experience in the banking industry. He holds PhD, MPhil, MBA, BSc (Hons.), FCA, HCIB, CISA, CGEIT, and CRISC certifications, showcasing his extensive knowledge and expertise in the field. With a strong focus on providing assurance, enhancing controls, and inspiring systemic change, he has made significant contributions to organizations through his strategic assurance and consulting functions.
Throughout his career, he has gained expertise in various areas, including internal audit, risk management and compliance, operational and financial audit, information systems audit, eBusiness and payment systems, audit and control automation, policy and framework formulation, internal control, financial strategy and control, information security, revenue assurance, and transactions audit.
He also possesses strong leadership and problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver effective training, professional development, and motivational speeches. At FBN Holdings Plc, Nigeria, he serves as the Head of Internal Audit, reporting to the Board Audit and Risk Assessment Committee and administratively to the Group Managing Director. He played a pivotal role in the formation of the Group Audit Forum, which enhanced collaboration, synergy, and competence among auditors across the organization. His educational background includes a PhD in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Babcock University, an MPhil in Business Administration (Strategic Management) from Babcock University, an MBA in Finance from Obafemi Awolowo University, and a BSc in Banking and Finance from Olabisi Onabanjo University. He has also completed specialized training programs, including leadership and management programs from prestigious institutions like Harvard Business School and the Wharton School, as well as certifications in areas such as risk management, information systems audit, and governance. Recently, he won awards for Innovation in FBNHoldings Plc for the transformation of the Internal Audit process across the Group as well as Great Place to Work’s Exceptional People Manager.
